Support the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame and win a vintage motorcycle

One way to support the AMA Motorcycle Museum and win a chance of owning a cool vintage motorcycle is by entering one of their raffles.
Tickets are $5 bucks each or 5 for $20 bucks.

The lucky winner will be chosen in a random drawing during AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, in July, 2010.

The two bikes being raffled together this coming year are:
The 1969 HONDA CB750 FOUR is restored by Vic World of World Motorcycles.

The 1965 Honda CUB C100 is all original, never sold or titled, with 1 mile on the odometer.

Contact the AMA for further information and remember, you can’t win if you don’t enter.

Bat outa Hell?

I know, i know…it’s nearing Halloween so what better time to display the new, “tada” Official Batman Motorcycle Gear!

Batman: The Dark Knight Motorcycle Gear Features:

– Removable CE Approved Body Armor in both Jacket and Pants
– Highly detailed, removable lightweight interior lining.
– Form Molded Leather and Kevlar Armor Sectons.
– Made from Quality Tanned Cow Hides

Now to find a rider either bold or foolish enough to ride the streets wearing it….*smirk*

GREAT Buell deals being found!

This price sticker was spotted by Asphalt and Rubber in the SF/Bay Area.

So, its a great time to go out and pick up a steal of a deal on a new Buell. Sadly, if there had been more interest in the first place we might still see the Buell being made, but for the sake of seeing a few more on the road, the time to buy is NOW, especially given the Federal stimulus tax incentive

Ok, on your mark, get set, SHOP!!

Barack Obama and an Enertia

Brammofan sez it all, but I loved the picture whether real or not and had to repost it along with this quote from my hero Michelle Obama, “Although the President could not be reached for a comment, Michelle Obama’s press secretary said that the First Lady does not approve of him not wearing a helmet, but “if he’s got to have his midlife crisis, at least he’s being environmentally responsible about it.”

As an addition to the above:
Shocking Barack, is a fun website to check out as two guys attempt to deliver a new efficient Brammo Enertia to President Obama. You can even sign your name on their website for them to “sharpie” onto the bike previous to delivery! Now how fun is that? Show your support and check out their website!! Good luck guys!

Boardtrack Racing, anyone?

In reading about Harley Davidson’s economic downturn as reported by the Huffington Post, I discovered a little piece of Harley history, that I knew nothing about, Boardtrack Racing!

The first competitive venue for Harley was in boardtrack racing where the tracks were made out of wooden boards, and the first one in the country was in Playa del Rey, CA. I can’t even imagine the carnage of falling on a boardtrack!

Boardtrack racing is one of the many subject you can read about on Wheels Through Time, a website offering video footage and motorcycle history information as well as a museum you can visit in Maggie Valley, NC. YouTube had this video of Dale and a 1921 Harley that he found.
