Packing for Spain…amazing!!

I found an article in the NYT that had a flight attendant’s demo of packing a carry-on bag. I decided to give it a shot and see if I could pack for a 15 day trip in one bag. It appears that I can!
First off, I looked up the airline regulation for the proper carry-on bag size and then I bought a proper sized bag from Ross for a whooping $39.00. Then I grabbed everything I wanted to take and placed it on my bed.

ATGATT (all the gear all the time!)

Once again my friend, AtlasRider, has posted another of his important motorcycle safety videos, ATGATT (all the gear all the time). We hear complaints all the time that it takes too long to gear up or it’s too hot, or it’s too cold, or it’s just too much of a hassle. There is also, the, I’m going to work and I have to have work clothes for the office. There is any number of excuses, but there is absolutely no excuse you can offer your skin, for the graphs it will need without proper gear. Really…I am not kidding and neither is AtlasRider!

Countdown to Spain!

Many of you know that I am about to embark on a trip to Southern Spain, but for those that don’t, I’m here to share my excitement!!

I have rented a motorcycle from BMW Moto Rental found in several of Spain’s larger cities. The bike is a BMW F650GS and the parallel twin should suit me well for the mountain terrain as well as any other encounters. I did look at the F800ST as well, but this GS was a bit less money, and I felt it would do just fine.

It comes as you see it above, with side bags and a top bag, so my only concern will really be chain maintenance. I do hope to pack on some miles and see as much of Andalusia as possible and venture over into Portugal if time allows. My traveling partner is an old friend, Ken Sullivan and this will be both of our first trip to Spain as well as our first experience riding in Europe!

May 7, International Female Ride Day Ride!

Up and out with the sun warm on my back, I rode out to Highway 50 wondering where I could ride locally for International Female Ride Day, stay warm and get out of the commuter traffic. Ah, the woes of the unemployed!
