A new place to park my motorcycle…

I have been immersed in the haze of searching for a new abode. Gary and I have been renting for three years now, and with prices and interest rates so low, we are entertaining a new home, but boy not without trials and tribs. We went through a house inspection yesterday only to discover that the house we placed an offer upon, needs some major plumbing work, a new pool pump among various other costly fixes. Man, and I thought motorcycles were a hole to throw money into! Today we are asking that the big ticket items be fixed or we bail and it’s back to square one. I wonder if our house inspector gives bulk discounts?? HA!
Here’s the “almost” abode…

Looks good with that motorcycle, eh?

Complete with old skool pool/spa

Demenshea sez... Ya, we don't like to see ads, either, but it helps pay the rent... so please visit our (randomly supplied) sponsors to keep the content coming! ;-)

Is that the house next door to the one you’re in now?

Also, if the sellers are willing to reduce the price to allow for repairs, it might not be a deal breaker.

Best of luck whatever you decide to do,

Can’t wait to hang out at your new place :)

Nope Dave, it’s about 6 miles from here. We did approach them this afternoon with a counter offer to either fix the catastrophic items or reduce the price. We’ll see!!

Hope it comes through, Max. The future holds our and your fate. ;)

Cute new abode D!! Love the POOL!!! I hope it’ll work out for you two! We are in the same boat….renting this place but planning to finally purchase a home within the next year or two. NOT in Utah tho!! Good luck on the counter offer!! :)

I see your situation on those house hunter shows on HGTV often and it usually works out with the seller fixing the items or giving a credit back to the buyer for repairs!

Get some money knocked off, then do the fixes yourself; labour is always the highest cost part of that kind of work.

(BTW, I just did a job sealing some major leaks at a public pool…)

Looks like there needs to be a pool party….
