My stomach is in knots, and I am alarmed that this can happen and the DMV can just say: "DAMN, someone screwed up...too bad for you!" It's time to go a bit higher in the ranks with the paperwork and explanation given you by the folks there. In other words, make photo copies of the stuff they gave you, find out who runs the offices in the county you live in and shake some cages a bit further up the totem pole. If that fails, take it to the press. I'll bet they will like this one. When ever the state screws up this badly...the press likes to get involved. You cannot let the guy who now owns your motorbike (by mistake) get the upper ground on you. Advance and be the aggressor. Be sure you are the one who is NOT caught with your pants down. I used to have a ’63 Alfa Romeo Spyder back in the 70′s. one day someone was trying to reposses it. Seems someone owed money to a Bank. They searched and came looking for my car. It seems that when they registered this car it was registed as the model Number, NOT the VIN number. Eventually all was straightened out.

I have an idea. Give it to me . . . It will be safer out of the Country, and you can come to Canada anytime to ride it. Thank me later

It's crazy, I am now using and riding a bike that is not only not registered to me, but has no plate. Just how long do you think that's gonna last, until i get stopped. In the private sector it would already have been handled, but the DMV has to get ahold of James, let him know his 00 Bandit is NOT registered, but instead he is the registered owner of my bike.
