June – Weekend in Nevada/Lake Tahoe

It was a bit of a crazy weekend.

Day one:

Friday, while Gary worked, I thought it would be fun to ride up to Sand Harbor at Lake Tahoe and sit at the beach and read. The ride up Mt. Rose was spectactular as usual and the weather seemed perfect. Seemed….

After settling down on my bit o sand, I watched what looked like a storm approaching from the southeast. Within moments, it was upon us. I have never seen a beach crowd scatter as this one did!! In 15 minutes the weather completely changed from sunny and gorgeous to dark, petulant and brooding!! It began with a light wind gaining quickly to gale winds blowing sand and rain everywhere, I quickly ascertained I wasn’t leaving, so I got my stuff packed the bike and looked for the nearest shelter. The working lifeguard, whose picture I am sorry I didn’t get, saved me! He provided shelter and conversation. We are talking a really nice looking young man, the same age as my son, who I might add was also quite kind to me, Mrs. Robinson. 😀 😀 😀
