Day 11— July 11
A no riding pool day with my mother and best friend Karetta
First order of the day, a nice lunch at the country club complete with some sort of pear martini…yummy!!!

Next we must have drinks on the veranda of my mother’s new home, of which the photo simply does not do justice. What a perfect home for my mom!

We finished the day with salads and the movie, “Dan in Real Life”, which we thoroughly enjoyed.
A wonderful day off the bike, but I was sorry to leave, wishing that I could have spent more time with my kids!
Day 12—July 12
An early start provided me a reprieve from the heat. I had written my forum pal Steve and Lewis that I needed to get home to start packing and getting ready to move. I was sorry to miss meeting and riding with them, but I knew that it was time. I missed many of my schedule “fun” roads and took to I-5 to Salem, where I then headed to Detroit Lake where I met a couple of brothers, traveling from Salem to Bend for the weekend. One had just rented the new Harley. I was surprised how small it was!

Back on the road, I knew there were several good routes that I could take south. Of course I did not know that my main fun road, FR19 was CLOSED until I reached it. My adventurous spirit told me to simply go anyway, but after my last encounter with the “law” on a closed road, I decided to head to Sisters via Hwy 242.
Oh yes…Sisters who was hosting a regional “Quilt Show”. Who’d of thought there could be so many people interested in quilting! The entire town was closed with a detour around it. I needed gas so braved the “locals only” route into town. The place was packed! I filled my tank, got my new drug, Starbucks Doubleshot with energy and hung out for a bit visiting with some of the quilters. I saw some amazing quilts, but neglected to bring my camera, so you will just have to take my word regarding quilts!
