July – My Big Fat Moto Tour

In the morning after my yummy breakfast, I got on the road, determined to get home at a decent hour. As much as I desired exploring the area, Gary brought to my attention (in his most subtle way…) that he needed to leave that day, and it would certainly be nice to see one another before he headed to Sacramento to report to his new job. With that in mind, I took the path of least resistance, but still got to see some lovely country.

On Hwy 299, I passed through the town of Adin and connected to Hwy 139 once again. Adin was actually a scenic little berg, with beautiful hanging flower pots throughout the town. Sadly I was playing beat the clock and didn’t stop for many pictures.

The rest of the trip was over familiar roadways and a bit mundane after the big fat tour, I had just experienced. It was hot and smokey from the Paradise, CA fires and traffic filled the highway as I neared Reno.

It was time for the post-mototrip blues and as much as I desired seeing my wonderful husband, I was sad to see such a fantastic adventure come to a close.

My final shot was one of the GPS documenting the mileage.

3052 miles and nearly as many smiles experienced on my 08 Big Fat Solo Moto Tour. Until the next one…lift your glasses for a toast…

Love to one, friendship to many, and good will to all.
