The excitement stirs: 2009 Pashnit Girly Ride

As the excitement stirs for the 2009 Pashnit Girly Ride which is scheduled for July 24-26, I sat revisiting last years ride details and discovered an entire set of photos of which I had never posted. I believe the time has come for these pix to be unveiled!

Last year our scheduled route, the details of which can be found here, was altered due to fires in the Yosemite, NP. So the 17 of us on a variety of machine brands, met in Sacramento and did a Sierras ride over some of the most fun passes ever. As we traversed the area we picked up four more women, making a grand total of 21 riders. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time together, got a riding skill workout and saw some absolutely gorgeous country, although the ride was tainted with the fall of one woman. She was fine, a tribute to good gear but sadly her bike was not. She and her machine ended up traveling home together via a tow vehicle.

This year, sans any incidents, we will be repeating the fun and camaraderie and any women with some riding experience under her belt and interested in joining us can find all the details here on Pashnit or you may contact me through the comments section.

Thus far the 09 version of the Girly Ride has 21 women signed up. The ride will undoubtedly be a marvelous success and a tribute to the skills and passion of women in motorcycling!
