After a fairly late start leaving Sacramento, we finally got to Burns OR after staying within the speed limit riding the back roads north bound out of Susanville. We couldn’t have had better weather or roads riding Hwy 139 to 299 to 395 but we did see at least 8 CHP on the combination of highways. I was amazed. I can think of a better word…
We overnighted in Burns and had a great steak dinner at the Meat Hook then rose early the following morning so that we could ride our zig-zag route to head to the Bearcat Lodge an amazing motorcycle B and B run by JW and his wife Carol and with the help of two gorgeous bobcats and two wonderful housecats. We met a fellow rider there, Bill of Buffalo Bill on ADVrider. He posted his report here.
Our route took us here to NFD 16 then to some roads I couldn’t even find on google maps, which took us to Unity. From Unity we looped back around on 26 to Austin Junction then over the Middle Fork back to Hwy 395 then south to Seneca. It was an amazing array of goat, fine pavement and fun!!

The vistas
The goat…and when they say cattle guards in corners, they aren’t kidding!! This one was an easy one.
