Day 9–Keystone to Cortez, UT

Lost of runoff

Loved this road…scenic and great riding!

As I near Cortez the weather finally clears!

I checked into a Best Western Motel in Cortez, knowing that the bed would be great and the pillows excellent and I could easily get a decent night of sleep! Woohoo!

Once checked in I decided that a solo dinner was not what I wanted to endure, so I made a quick trip across the street to the local store and found a salad, a grilled chicken and a semi-sweet chocolate bar and called it a meal. Combined with a pathetic Bud light, since wine is not sold in grocery stores and liquor stores are closed on Sunday, I ate uneventfully in my room. I took a hot tub which was delightful.

I watched some mundane television, worked on pictures and called it a night.

This was also a nice added bene…; ) One slick hot tub.

I slept like a baby.

While getting ready to do some laundry, I met Paul, who was riding what he called a Kawihar. In the morning before leaving Cortez, I found and photographed his bike. It was rather interesting!

The I was off to Torrey.
