Couch Potato Ride–Bakersfield to Sacramento–the last leg home

I arrived in Bakersfield just before nightfall for the second time on this trip. My night riding skills were quickly becoming quite honed.

Rigs

Law Dawg, Mark, talked me in to his home and I was quickly welcomed my his wonderful family, both human and canine and after a nice meal, I quickly settled in becoming part of the family.

I have never seen a dog actually watch television, but Mark’s Ms Bea was an exception, especially since she didn’t consider herself a dog! Here she was awaiting her favorite part with her dog pal Reggie which sadly my camera didn’t catch.

The final day I was up and ready to go, not early mind you but timely. I said my goodbyes and got suited up for the road and was still unsure the route I was taking home having no interest in slabbing all the way.

I ended up taking some side roads and then taking Hwy 46 to Estrella to Indian Valley Road to Peach Tree and then taking Hwy 25 and some other back roads to Pachecho Pass. I had a great day of riding some wonderful back yard goat then the final slab up I5 seemed less rude. I pulled into the garage about 30 minutes after nightfall a tired rider glad to be home from yet one more journey!
