On December 21, the first day of northern winter the full Moon will pass almost dead-center through Earth’s shadow. For 72 minutes an eerie amber light will be cast across any snow covered surfaces and bask our skin tones in reddish umber. The best viewing time according to NASA, will be at 12:17 PST. Hopefully, here in Sacramento, that clouds will be clear enough to view this spectacle. I know where i’ll be at midnight December 21st!!
