Well, now this subject was a bit more difficult to research and find any “real” art featuring women riders. Mostly I found either cult like pieces of women on motorcycles or bikini clad calendar girls draped over bikes. But here is the offering from this research including some very relevant credible female rider artists!
Unknown artist, but pretty fun drawing.
I have always loved the artwork of David Uhl. His work usually features Harley Davidson motorcycles, with beautiful women, either riding them or adorning them. He paints in oil and his work is timeless and sensual. My favorites…
This piece is more of the calendar type but beautifully rendered and respectably presented.
Jason Watt paints mostly track bikes and famous track riders, but I was thrilled to find this one of a female motorcycle racer from PNW Riders, on her Suzuki SV 650 motorcycle.
While I was attending the AMA Women in Motorcycling conference in Keystone, CO in 2009 I had the privilege of meeting Christina Shook, a rider and photographer. I bought her new book, Chicks on Bikes, a wonderful compendium of photographs and insightful words, featuring women motorcycle riders from the Bay Area. An outstanding book for any motorcycle rider to add to her/his collection!!
The cover of the book (a wonderful tongue and cheek photograph! I love this woman and her aesthetic!!)…
My last find is Guenevere Schwien, a rider and painter of amazing photo-realistic paintings of motorcycles. Her work is both stunning and amazing.
As an artist/rider myself, I’ve been inspired to attempt some sort of motorcycle art, but for now I am limited to t-shirt designs found on Zazzle. I hope in the future to work motorcycling into my painting. I feel one trying to emerge…
