I purchased heated gear at least 3 seasons ago from A&S BMW. I bought a Gerbing jacket liner, gloves and a dual controller to be able to adjust each individually. They have served me well until this winter when one one of the gloves decided it was tired of “giving it up” and no longer heated. I called A&S when this occurred and was told that the Gerbing gloves had a lifetime warranty so bring them on in. I did just that. Well, it’s not easy to be without your heated gloves in winter and I was, let’s say, less than patient. I began calling the A&S parts department, and Bobby Beauchamp in particular, and one other gent in the parts department. Anyway, they handled me kindly, and professionally. They would call Gerbing trying to discover an ETA for the return and what was being done. Once, the gloves were in wiring, once they were in QA and then who knows, but A&S kept calling for me and checking on progress. Well, last week, I got a call from them that my gloves had been returned and were ready to pick up. I glowed, thinking about the warmth of my repaired gloves. Within an hour I got another call from A&S … It went something like this:
“Hello, Donna, well…I have to apologize, I called you about your gloves, but I made the mistake of calling the wrong person, and they really aren’t your gloves that are back from Gerbing, but someone elses.”
me: “Well, are they a woman’s small? If so, you called me first, so I’ll be by to get them. After all, you did call me and it seems only fair, I should be first and if you’ve seen one pair you’ve seen them all.”
“Well, hehe, it doesn’t really work that way, but I do see what you mean. I’ll call Gerbing again right after I call the person who belongs to these gloves and see where in the process yours are located.”
me: “Hmmmm, that just doesn’t seem fair, but ok, I’ll concede, let me know about mine, please. I hope you’ll get them to me before I no longer need them.”
That was at the end week 3 after I dropped my gloves off. Well, good things come to those that wait. Today, I got the call.
“Hey Donna, I’ve good bad and good news. Bad, your gloves are discontinued; good you got the newest micro-wire pair sent to you from Gerbing at no charge.”
me: “WOOFREAKINHOO!!! I’m on my way!!”
So, I got a brand new pair of Gerbing heated gloves, under warranty. Thank you Gerbing. Thank you A&S BMW for putting up with my impatience and facilitating this exchange of bad gloves for good ones. Cheers!!
