Does this bike look to fit me?? It seems so in my estimation but I’ve got to say my arms look very tense!!
After much consideration and soul-searching, I need to sit and soul search just why me and my 07 Bandit are having a difficult time bonding. One of the things that I need to consider was brought to my attention by my friend, Notarian, when he asked if I had ever had the bike’s suspension evaluated. Well, no is the answer to that, so that is now something that I am going to address, that and a possible new seat for it, as I simply despise the stock seat. Note, sent me this video and it showed just how important it is to adjust your suspension to the rider.
Ok, that’s in the works. Next is the seat. This seat sets me up higher than the Corbin that is on my 00 Bandit. When I put the stock seat on my 00, ages ago, I could barely touch, which takes away any sort of secure feel. I would like more than my tip toes to reach the ground and I am certain a new seat or reworking this seat would assist in that. That’s number two.
Number three is to have the ergos checked and rechecked. I want to make sure that my reach to the bars is not a bit too far. I don’t know how it measures out, but I believe I have less of a reach on the 00 and it that’s the case, then maybe simply moving my bars a fit forward would assist in my control.
Finally, i can’t stand the stock exhaust. Not so much for performance but for how it looks on the bike. Now this is certainly NOT a priority as it’s strictly cosmetic, but something to fix if I want a love affair with this Bandit.
I know that most any bike can be adjusted to fit the rider and the riding style, provided some of the required criteria is met. So, I know I am not a cruiser girl, as i can’t make a cruiser have the clearance I want to ride the twisties, nor can i get rid of the footboards in lieu of upright pegged seating. But I do know that this Bandit can be tweaked to fit me and my riding style better.
As they say….”JUST DO IT”. 🙂
