On Saturday Gary and I went to San Francisco. We didn’t ride but instead drove since we were meeting friends from Canada. We couldn’t have chosen a better day!!
The drive down was the usual freeway schlug from Sacramento, but as we approached the city the sun was brightly shining and once across the Bay Bridge, there were people everywhere. I saw, I can’t tell you how many people wearing angel wings and devil horns. It wasn’t until later when we approached the parade barricade, that it dawned on me that it was The Pride Parade. I don’t believe the city could have been much more entertaining for visitors!
After our friends saw some of the parade, they met us and we walked to Fisherman’s Wharf.
Loved the sunglasses!!
Gotta love this sign…
The sky was simply amazing!
We stayed at the Andrews Hotel, which is a very nice and reasonably priced hotel with a lovely Italian restaurant Fino on the same property. Fino is an intimate little slice of awesome Italian cooking. Everything seems to be wonderful.
The second day we walked to Chinatown and perused the area and what a blast.
Gotta love this!
The gate entrance to Chinatown.
Yep, that’s my husband…
The fog lifting from the city.
More graffiti
Colorful Chinatown
Yum….
My favorite and final shot of the excursion.
If you have never been to San Francisco…it’s an absolute must, for food, people watching, culture and sights. It’s one hell of a city!
