Seat Alteration at Spencers Motorcycle Seat Mods and Suspension adjustment at Catalyst Reaction Suspension Tuning

Jim Williams at Catalyst Reaction

Well, I finally got some riding on my new tweaked seat from Spencer’s Motorcycle Seat Mods and am loving what I am feeling or not feeling! My arse is certainly much happier now and the bonus joining that smiling arse, is that I can actually get both feet firmly planted on the ground now. It’s amazing how much more confidence that gives one when stopping. 😉

I have probably now ridden the new seat for nearly 400 miles, which I realize isn’t much, but I know it will only get better as it settles into my shape and ride style. I highly recommend Spencers’s seat alterations. It looks exactly the same as when I sent it to him, only now it’s tolerable to sit up for hours at a time, where as prior it was not. He is quick and reasonable and the only factor that is difficult is shipping a seat off to Florida. Even with the shipping complication, the time was well worth the wait and the seat is ready to ride!

So ride it I did right on down to San Carlos, CA and Catalyst Reaction for the next step in personalizing my bike. My suspension was set up for me and my touring style riding. The job was effortlessly done by Jim Williams. He adjusted my pre-load, and firmed up my real suspension. He did it in such a way, that I can ride a happy medium either loaded or unloaded. Mind you loaded, the bike has no more on it then the weight of a passenger, as I attempt to pack fairly light. The most cumbersome addition is the top box, which carries only a change of riding gear and some tennis shoes and the necessary flask of good single malt for when I arrive at my daily destination.

As Jim worked on the bike, he told me about riding the track with his wife Nickie on the back and how relaxed she was riding at high speeds and dragging knee. I was impressed. I imagine Jim is a force on the track and Nickie the perfect pillion. After he got my suspension tweaked, he had me ride it to make sure I was happy with the result. It was awesome and my trip home, could not have been better, unless the weather had been about 20 degrees cooler. The Bay Area was nice, but by the time I reached central CA, it was a blistering 102. I was glad to get home and have a cooling dip in our pool! Oh ya, speaking of…ask Jim about his pool/pond. 😉

I highly advise all riders, to have their suspension set for their personal riding style. I can’t tell you what a difference it made for me and my new Bandito2. Anyone else enjoying a seat mod or suspension tweaking??
