I found this very enlightening, but what happens when the ECU breaks or is disabled by one thing or another? I believe you have no braking ability at all, however I have had a difficult time establishing this fact. More research is due and I welcome any thoughts that you might have!
The argument against ABS has been from well-experienced riders that say their skills with practiced, efficient, front and rear braking gives them the ability to stop faster than engaging ABS. This may be the case but does it work under the stress of a life-threatening, panic-braking scenario?
I am quite interested in having an ABS braking system and when I consider buying a new bike, I will most likely be buying one with ABS, even though I trust my skill and judgement when braking, ABS may save my life in an emergency situation; a sudden deer in roadway, an approaching sudden left turning vehicle. There are definite situations where I believe ABS is imperative.
