A ride approaches…

Kootenay Lake, BC, Canada

As many of you know, I tend to be a distance rider and less of a daily rider. I’m quite content to wile my day away swimming in the backyard pool, or creating a fashion collage. I have even been know to do an original piece of artwork or a fine meal or to plant something that without my help actually grows, but right now I’m planning a ride with an excellent gal pal, Tyler. We are going to Castlegar, BC, Canada via the scenic route.

This will be the first time that I and Tyler have taken a trip, for a very long time. Tyler after her devastating accident and taken to a more stable Can-Am Spyder and the five wheels, Tyler’s three and my two will be heading to Canada at the end of next week.

This is our first ride together ______years ago! 😉

I know that many of you that know me, will probably assume that I’ll be taking my new machine, a Kawasaki Versys, but after much thought and deliberation, I have decided to take the 1250 Bandit, my baby. I bought the Versys in hopes that it would meet my desires, and provide a lighter more versicle machine, but the jury is till out regarding that success. So, the Bandit with all it’s bags and outlets, will allow me to take this tour with the bells and whistles, a plug in for my GPS, and my heated gear. The raw power to both get me into and out of trouble, I can’t wait!!

So next Saturday, Tyler and I will take to the road going first to Carson City, Winnemucca, Boise, Grangeville, Woods Bay, Elkford BC, Castlegar. Then it’s Leavenworth WA, Portland OR, Gold Beach, OR, and onto the back roads of CA. This will be a two week excursion, one that will be both exciting and FUN!! I can’t wait!!!

These are our route details.
