March in Photos (for Dolores)

Half of March saw half of los dos back in the United States. Donna lost her mother on March 20. Dolores was 96 and witnessed so much of the American experience in the past century: a stock market crash, the Great Depression that followed, World War II, the Baby Boom (3 storks on the side of Dolores’ post-war fighter plane), the Civil Rights movement, the lunar landing, the Vietnam War, 9/11, and … Trump. Through it all, Dolores managed and thrived, for better or worse, in the company of three wonderful children. She made a great life and a great family in her long years.

Donna’s back in Spain and feeling more than a bit down at this point, grieving and trying on different perspectives. Nothing suits. I’m standing by, advising that only Dr. Time has a cure. It seems like snake oil. Until it doesn’t. I’ll be here when she needs a hand, or a shoulder, or another perspective.

Time carried on its march for the other los dos in Spain while Donna saw her mom pass. I spent time exploring Córoba with our canine companion, Ella. We collected another mixed bag of monthly photos. Things that caught my eye.

And here’s another photo gallery format for you. Leave a comment and let us know what you think… saludos.

We’ll miss you so, Dodie. Travel in peace…

  1. My sincere condolences to Donna. It’s never easy, we’ll all be there. Grieving with time is essential if you need anything I can help, but I believe you are in understanding hands.

To move on, as we must, the white lily is Raku and symbolic. Your photos are a delight to observe. That country will heal many maladies with its beautiful landscape and Gary’s handy camera. Good eye there Cubby, you’re hittin it out of the old Wrigley brickyard against the nasty Lake winds. Something you both should Proudly feel. Gooz
