As I turn my sights to smaller displacement and lighter motorcycles, I recently found the Suzuki Gladius. This motorcycle is one you will either love or hate when you see it. Many critics have said that the styling is too “female” with its rounded edges, flowing lines and friendly ergos, like any of that is a bad thing when seeking a fine fitting motorcycle! But however you feel about the Gladius, the similarities between it and the original naked SV650 can not be denied as the comparative tech info provides.
This is a machine that is caught somewhere between the Weestom and the SV650 but has enough style and updates to stand on it’s own merit, at least according to motorcycle.com. I only compare it to the Weestrom in that many people find the Suzuki 650 V-Strom an eyesore and the exhaust on the Gladius has garnished some of the same criticism. I, however, find the Gladius a very attractive package with lots of potential for an inseam challenged rider or a newer less experienced rider who is desiring a bit more umph then what a 250 intro bike will provide.
I definitely feel the draw to ride this bike and until then the jury is out.
