Hot HOT HEAT…part 3

After lots of deliberation and tire scanning it was decided that there was no way I was leaving the MCB&B without a new front tire. I knew I was going to need one when I returned, but I didn’t realize how quickly those last few tire miles would be used up. Oh well, luckily Dean knew a sport bike dealer in Show Low who was quick to give him a great price on a new tire. No, it wasn’t a PR2 which is what I run, but it was a decent touring tire made by Bridgestone and it was certainly a step up from my slick tread remain. We picked up the new tire and Dean gave a quick call to Roger who was on his way to the soiree and whose talents as a mechanic proceeded his arrival. Dean alerted him, he has a “small” job upon his arrival, and Roger seemed ok about adding some work to his vacation. I believe he had a quick beer when he arrived and got right to the task at hand, for which I totally appreciate! You can see by the photo that the tread is hosed…

I love the fact that the MCB&B has nearly anything you could possibly need to work on your bike. This tire machine can in really handy!

The moral support was supplied in spades by Fiona…as you can see she’s ready to jump up and help wherever it was needed. Kinda like, “hold this beer”. 😉

As the day worn on, more people arrived and the barn was filled with some of the most awesome machines ever!!

Sandy Jack, Don and Marc.

RB and Judy

Dave and Rob

Simon, having come all the way from Great Briton, was being wholly Americanized. I think he looks pretty darned handsome! Great shot by Frenchy!

As the evening got nearer, so did the antics. We had a most amazing dinner of grilled steak and all the accouterments. Sorry, I was hungry enough that I didn’t get a photo. Then we spent the evening hanging out, looking at the stars and later Frenchy decided to reenact the zombie apocalypse.

Fiona and Frenchy

The night sky was truly gorgeous. The milky way glittered and with the help of Fiona’s Star Watch phone app, we could make out the constellations. By the end of the evening we’d all had enough sustenance and somehow ended up outside with Marc shooting staged zombie shots. Yes, you heard that right!

the moon makes a ghoulish glow…

the zombies begin to rise…note the zombie dog. 😉

I believe Fiona best summed up the day…
